A family friendly museum
At Ordsall Hall, we want every family to enjoy a welcoming, comfortable, and memorable visit. From exploring centuries of history to discovering our beautiful organic gardens, there are plenty of opportunities for visitors of all ages to learn, play, and explore together.
To help make your visit as easy as possible, we offer a range of family-friendly facilities:
- Relax with a drink, light lunch, or sweet treat in our welcoming café. If you need help warming or cooling a baby bottle, our team will be happy to provide hot or cold water.
- Browse our gift shop for books, toys, and souvenirs to remember your visit.
- Baby changing facilities are available on site.
- Breastfeeding is welcome throughout Ordsall Hall and the café.
- Free Wi-Fi is available for visitors.
- Most areas of the Hall are accessible for buggies, although some historic spaces have uneven floors and narrow doorways. Please contact us if you’d like to discuss accessibility before your visit.
- Accessible toilet facilities are available.
- Our gardens provide a lovely space to enjoy the outdoors, explore nature, and relax during your visit.

During school holidays and special events, families can enjoy a programme of hands-on activities, including crafts, storytelling, workshops, and seasonal celebrations inspired by the Hall’s history, gardens, and local wildlife.
Our beautiful organic gardens are perfect for little adventurers. Spot bees and butterflies, discover colourful flowers and historic planting, enjoy the orchard and Tudor knot garden, or simply take time to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
