We ask that groups with 8 or more people, book in advance, so that we can make sure you have the best visit possible.

If you are planning a school or educational visit please go to our Salford Museums Schools’ Hub

We are happy to welcome groups at Ordsall Hall and guided tours can be arranged.

Tours are led by experienced members of our team, and will tell the fascinating story of how the building has developed over the last 650 years, bringing to life some of the characters connected to this famous Salford landmark.

To make a group tour enquiry please email us at ordsall.hall@scll.co.uk.

The Hall is available for group visits between 10am and 4pm, Monday to Thursday. However, during term time we do have school classes in most days, so we try to arrange for groups to visit us in the afternoon to avoid clashing with young pupils visiting us.

Guided tours during opening hours (Monday to Thursday, 10am-4pm and Sunday 11:30am-4pm), cost £3.50 per person.

As of April 1st the cost per head for a group tour will be £4.50 or £7 per person to also have tea, coffee, and biscuits.

We ask that your group has a minimum of 10 people and maximum of 30 people attending. Groups larger than 20 will be split into two as some of our rooms in the Hall have a strict limit on numbers.

Please allow one hour to an hour and thirty minutes for your visit.

Ordsall Hall is full accessible to wheelchair users, apart from one small room in the East Wing. There is a lift in each wing of the Hall. Staff and volunteers are always happy to provide assistance to any members of groups with mobility issues.

We welcome self-guided visits to the Hall but politely ask that you contact us in advance of your visit so that we can check that your visit does not clash with another booking, school visit or activity. There are no charges for a self-guided group visit.

Within the Hall we have a small area that seats up to 12 people to enjoy refreshments. Our café serves a selection of hot and cold drinks, cakes, biscuits and a small selection of sandwiches. To avoid queuing in the café we can arrange tea, coffee and biscuits for your group to be set up in a private room. Tea and coffee costs £2.10 per person and tea, coffee and biscuits costs £2.60 per person.

We can also arrange a buffet lunch for your group. Prices start from £7.95 per person. Please ask for further information when you enqiure.

Our car park is 100 metres from the Hall’s entrance. We have 5 parking bays for blue badge holders. Car parking charges apply at the following rates:

  • £2.50 – up to 3 hours
  • £6.00 – 3 to 6 hours
