History of the Hall
Ordsall Hall, Salford’s Grade 1 listed Tudor manor house – was first recorded in 1177.
Since then, it has been home to Medieval gentry, Tudor nobility, Catholics loyal to the crown, butchers, farmers, an Earl, an artist, priests, scout troops, mill workers, cows and several ghosts!
Today, it is an engaging museum, a wedding venue and a place to host meetings, open throughout the year. Surrounded by two acres of organically managed gardens, it boasts hands on exhibitions, immersive room settings, meeting rooms and a small café.
“Wholehearted thanks from all of us at BBC Children’s for a superb day. The team were buoyant and in such good spirits and loved the venue, the grounds, the food – everything! What a wonderful oasis Ordsall Hall is and right on your doorstep. Everything was faultless and the day ran seamlessly and I cannot thank you enough for your help in making our Away Day ‘brilliant’.”
