Meet our Ghosts...
There is said to be three resident ghosts here at Ordsall Hall
We don’t know exactly who this enigmatic figure in white is, but most say that she is the spirit of Lady Margaret Radclyffe, who died, broken hearted, in 1599 after the death of her beloved brother Alexander.
A young girl is said to roam the Hall – especially when there are children and school parties around. It is said that you can tell she is there by the sweet smell of roses in the air.
Said to inhabit the Star Chamber – this former Lord of the Manor is said to be very keen on the ladies! Female visitors have reported his rather bold advances on many occasions.
The History of Ordsall Hall
Ordsall Hall has had a long and interesting history with many different uses since it was first mentioned in records in 1177! Today, it is a welcoming and friendly historic house telling the story of the Hall and some of the people who made it their home.
Ghost Nights at Ordsall Hall
Join us for one of our ghost walks to hear spooky tales from the hall with Flecky Bennett which happen across the year. For larger paranormal investigations we work with Blackgate Paranormal who offer a small programme of after hours events.
We only host ghost investigations with the above mentioned organisations and we do not allow Ordsall Hall to be hired for private paranormal groups, events, or filming.
