The project has been approved through the planning process with Salford City Council and is funded through a combination of Section 106 contributions (from local development projects) and support from the Arts Council.
Initial works will take place in the western area of the gardens, close to the community growing space. These early stages will focus on groundworks to prepare the site for the new barn. This will be followed by construction of the barn itself, along with the creation of new pathways and additional planting to enhance the surrounding area.
Work is expected to be completed in the early summer, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to see the finished barn and newly landscaped garden areas.
The bespoke, traditionally built oak barn will provide a versatile, all-weather space for visitors to use throughout the year, offering a new setting for community activities and events within the historic grounds of Ordsall Hall.
