The festival of Candlemas was a celebration of the return of lighter nights and longer days after the depths of winter.
People would have candles blessed in church which they could light to protect themselves from misfortune.
Celebrate the coming of spring and the return of the light with your own air-dry candleholder. Decorate with Tudor protective symbols or flowers as we look forward to the end of the winter season.
