Join us on Halloween for a special talk to discover how former residents of Ordsall Hall would protect themselves from evil spirits.
Ordsall Hall has long been famed for its resident ghosts – The White Lady is said to be the ghost of Lady Margaret Radclyffe who died, broken hearted, in 1599 after her brother’s death. But how did the Radclyffes protect themselves from more menacing ghosts and ghouls? Come discover the charms, incantations and ‘hag stones’ that were used to ward off evil spirits at the most haunted time of the year which helped give the Hall’s residents (human and animal) a peaceful night’s sleep.
