Ordsall Hall’s Digital Audio Described Tour

Enjoy an Audio Described tour of Ordsall Hall by using the Smartify app.

With a stop in every room, Anne Hornsby of Mind’s Eye Audio Description will guide you around the building and bring you closer to the history of the Hall and it’s residents, as well as facts about life in the Tudor period.

You can download the tour in advance, or just scan the code when you visit us. While the tour has been created for use while you visit, you are very welcome to listen to it in advance.

We recommend following the tour in the order it is on the app as there is wayfinding between each room or stops as we call them.

AD symbol

However if you prefer there are QR codes in each location next to an AD symbol, which may work for you if you can identify them or have a sighted companion.

While this tour is designed to be used independently, staff and volunteers will be happy to help you get to the next stop of the tour if you are having any difficulties.

This tour has been made possible thanks to the funding from Arts Council England. We’d also like to thank Thomas Pocklington Trust and Greater Manchester Sight Loss Council for all their support.
