Ordsall Hall are delighted to be hosting the launch of Rhona Whiteford’s latest book – A Lifting of Clouds.

This, the latest novel in Rhona’s The Unspoken Voices series, A Lifting of Clouds is set in part at Ordsall Hall against the backdrop of the Second World War, Christmas 1940.

‘An absorbing and gripping read of war-torn Manchester, it follows the lives of an extended family with spies, clairvoyants, mediums and love thrown into the mix.’ (Reviewer)

To celebrate the book launch and to pay tribute to the experiences of people living during the Second World War, for one day only, Ordsall Hall, with the help of some reenactor’s groups, will be transported back to the Second World War.

Between 11.30am and 2pm there will be civilian Second World War reenactors onsite who can tell you all about what life would have been like for those living during the Salford/Manchester Blitz.

Just drop in to meet the author, speak to medic and civilian reenactors and listen to 1940’s ditties from the wonderful Hattie Bee.
