During this session pupils will explore the Grade 1 listed Ordsall Hall by stepping back in time to help to prepare for a Tudor wedding feast. As the Radclyffe family and their servants prepare for the celebration, pupils will help them and will get an insight in to what Tudor homes were like.
There will be hard work to do in the kitchen, Great Chamber and Star Chamber as well as a dance to learn in the Great Hall! Our facilitators will help your class to learn about Tudor celebrations, food and homes as well as discovering how different life was for rich and poor people during the period.

This is a full day session from 10.00am to 2.30pm.
We can accommodate one class each day (maximum of 35 pupils).
Investigate how places change over time by interacting with old maps and images. Carry out your own detective work to discover how different historical sources can help us to find out how people lived in the past.

This is a half-day session (2 hours) with the option to stay for lunch and extend your visit with teacher-led activities (subject to availability).
We can accommodate one class per visit for this session (maximum of 35).
You will be greeted at the entrance by our facilitators who will deliver the first part of the session in the Victorian Gallery. This session focuses on historical enquiry, and the pupils will be asked to work in groups to try and identify some mystery objects. They will then by taken on a tour of our Victorian street to find out about their objects, and what life would have been life in Victorian times.

This is a half-day session (2 hours) with the option to stay for lunch and extend your visit with teacher-led activities (subject to availability).
We can accommodate one class in the street (maximum of 35) due to health and safety reasons. Larger groups can be split up, with part of the group visiting the other galleries. All groups must be accompanied by adults – we recommend a ratio of at least 1 to 10.
Create a large scale artwork based on The Visit of Queen Victoria to Peel Park painting in our atmospheric Victorian Gallery. Look at the textures and patterns of the frames to decorate the hanging and get creative with mark-making, led by one of our experienced facilitators. Pupils will be able to take a piece of artwork home.
A two hour session costs £4.00 per pupil (Salford schools) and £4.50 per pupil (schools outside Salford). Why not spend the whole day with us and do a Key Stage 2 Time Detectives session and an Art session for £5.50 per pupil (Salford schools) and £6.00 per pupil (schools outside Salford).
